Meezer Meets Horse

They tried to take me to the barn.....and I told them no.

They wouldn't dare risk Chase's good will....

But Latte....oh poor little Latte.....

First they brought out the harness, then they brought out the carrier.  I was a little perturbed to be riding in the big metal machine but Meowmy was holding me and I sat in her lap and looked outside a lot.  It was OK.  It was a dark rainy night and I didn't know what was going on but I'm a good kitty and took it all in stride.

Eventually the car stopped and Meowmy wrapped me in her coat and we went in the rain until we got to a big door.  Inside the door smelled familiar, like when Meowmy comes home from the barn.  We walked into the dark and turned some lights on and it was very weird but I was safe in Meowmy's coat.

Then I saw her.....it was my GIANT sister Snap.  She was very horselike and she snuffed my head.  I snuffed her back because I recognized her smell from Meowmy's riding clothes.  I was a brave meezer and I let her nuzzle me and she was really very nice.  She likes kitties but I had never seen such a big animal before!  I was askeered......VERY askeered.

Meowmy made me ride her.  See how nice Snappy is being?  Even though I wanted to dig my clawrs into her back she listened to Meowmy to be a good horses (see her ears?) and she let me sit on her.  I appropriately gave laser meezer eyes.
This is her snuffing me and me snuffing her.  Her nostril is the size of my head!!!!!!  Thankfully Meowmy kept me safe in her coat.  So safe that when Snap shook her head..........I peed all over Meowmy.  I couldn't help it!  That big head scared me and while I was being really big and tough, I had to pee really bad.  Meowmy did not get mad at me at all (even though I really let it out....she was soaking wet).  We said goodbye to Snappy and I got to ride in the carrier on the way home.
After my very exciting journey Meowmy said I could blog about it so I'm sitting her in her lap and purring happily.  I was an askeery trip but certainly one none of us will ever forget.  Meowmy was so happy her babies knew each other and aside from the peeing incident, all went really well.  I'm still her big brave meezer man.

For all of you Snap lovers out there

The Lap Lady had a really bad and really good week so far. Monday she cried and cried through class and came home and got my fur really wet some more. Apparently this is totally normal and is "memo week break down". So, she got over that and yesterday she went and did something FUN for once. Check it out....these photos are super duper AMAZING!!!

Lady cats be thankful for your lack of lady parts!

Our horse is having ovarian issues, her right ovary is so hurty you can't touch her on that side. The VET drew some blood on her and is doing to give her a shot tomorrow. We are purring that she will be OK but it is possible this could go a bad direction but we aren't going there yet. So any purrs would be appreciated!

You can lead a horse to water...and other such adventures.

You can lead a horse to water......AND you CAN make her drink!!! I was looking rather dehydrated after my overheating adventure so the mom person walked me to the water tub and I sipped down a few gallons.

Hi there. It is me, Snap. Remember me? Well I have been having an insane summer and I felt the need to share. First of all the mom-lady-rider-person took me OFF the farm!!! Can you believe it?? We went to Farm Fair and there were amusement rides, cows, goats, crowds of people, and other horses. And yeah, she expected me to "behave". Um....it was askeery!!! I haven't been off the farm in a year. I survived 9 hours of being held in hand- longest day ever.

Next, oh the embarassment.....the fly sheet. Sure it might keep the flies from biting my delicious soft under belly, but I want to get it off so I roll around in the mud. Then, I proceed to sweat until I am overheating myself because the mud blocks the "breathability" of the sheet. Brilliant. The Care Giver had to cold hose me while I was rather peekid and "not looking good". Another long horrible day. Oh, and the entire right side of my body is COVERED in bug bits. Like...can't move .5" without one. Oh, and I'm in heat. Generally; crabilated. But I've been giving mom really big head hugs. She seems to like them and I like head hugs a lot. Then I try to bite her hehe....then I get smacked. Sigh....
In other CAT related news.....sheesh, who wants to hear about the 4 legged brat anyway? Hey, down there, do you see me??? Probably not because I'm really really high. The only way I was discovered was that I knocked some stuff over on my journey up here. The Tall Man thinks I was stuck up there and couldn't get down. I just didn't want to get down yet.....ummhmmm.....Not sure what happened to me, I am blaming old age. I used to leap up and down from the counter to the top of the cabinets all of the time. Even the frootbat can't leap up there. It is 6' straight up, no angle to help you.

Snapitude

Well hello my kitty friends. It has been a while hasn't it? Well thinks for me are always interesting! The spring grass is tasty....I have my herd in order.....oh, and I'm in heat so I'm having fun with the boys over the fence. Basically I'm feeling good and loving life! Mumsy has been riding me and I've been taking charge hehe. She tries to get me to go faster and I just give her a nice buck to unseat her. She hasn't come off....yet. Last night we rode in the field and I gave her a sweet sideways spook to the right while we were galloping up the hill. Hey, I'm just trying to keep her on her toes and prove my talent. Plus, she deserves it for trying to make me jump when I wasn't in the mood. She calls me a brat/diva/and other rather unpleasant words. If I'm not in the mood I'm not doing something and you can't make me. But hey, I'm a horse and it is SPRING!!! Bring on the spring fever. Plus, I have to pre-punish her for not coming to see me when school starts. I make sure I'm covered with muddy zebra stripes too so she gets filthy cleaning me.

P.S. We have been BEYOND horrible when our friends have given us awards. We truly truly appreciate them SO much but we just get caught behind. Anyhow, we're going to try to do better starting with the One Lovely Blog Award that our new friends from the Cats of Wildcat Woods just gave us. Visiting them made us realize how sadly behind we are in keeping up with blogging cats. I guess we've become antiquated.

Twosome Tuesday

We are the good fur children of the family. Don't we look angelic? We could never do anything bad.....

Our big sister Snap was sooooo bad last night! She thinks she needs gets special treatment since she's the boss mare. Well she was in one of her moods last night and she wanted to be first through the gate to go in for her dinner but then decided she didn't want to go right in and instead decided to nip at the other mares as they went in. They were down to her and 2 other girls when Snap decided that she was getting revenge on the barn lady for not givin her a personal invitation to go inside. Never before has she been so devious, she used her nose to open the gate while the barn person was inside with other horses. She let herself and the 2 other horses out so they could wander around the barn freely. The other horses wanted to eat their food so they went in the barn. Not Snap. Snap went over to flirt with the boy horses. Snap took off running around the barn like a crazy horse. Snap even got the goat to run around and play with her. Eventually she got hungry and let the lady catch her. The Lap Lady says Snap us such a bad horse when she wants to be!
This is the final spot the humans saw while they were away. Do you see the tiny people in the bottom left corner? That is how huge the falls are! These are Montmarcy Falls right outside of Quebec City. The Tall Man wanted to walk across that bridge but the Lap Lady totally vetoed that idea.

Snap Update #2

We thank everyone for their continued purrs for Snap.

Meowmy went out this afternoon hoping to find her chipper and found her lying in the field. Her gums were dry and didn't have good capilary reaction. Meowmy called the vet right away and walked her until he got there.

This time the poop that came out of her was rock hard and had the vet not very happy. He put a big long tube up her nostril into her stomach and pumped mineral oil and water. Then he gave her 2 more of the shots he gave her last night. He told Meowmy to feed her some nice green grass and if she wasn't herself by 6 or 7 call him back again.

After a harrowing trip to Villanova to return a computer that HAD to be returned today they returned to the barn (she was being cared for by Jess while they were gone) and searched fruitlessly to find Snap some bran mash. Luckily Jess had one serving for her. Snap looks much better but still hasn't pooped in her stall this evening yet. Jess's boyfriend is checking on her when he gets back from Penn National racetrack late tonight.

Meowmy will head back out there dark and early to check on her again. This is really rough on Meowmy so I've been having to sit on her and purr a lot too. Thank you so much for the continued purrs. We'll keep you posted.

Snap Update

Meowmy and the Toy Man went back out to the barn at 11 last night and stayed until 12:30. Snap did not look any better and while she wasn't moving around she still hadn't pooped and was fidgety and didn't want anyone to touch her tummy. They hand walked her for an hour and it seemed to make lots of gut noises but no poop. Meowmy wanted to see the promised "huge amount of manure" the vet said to expect. Meowmy was a wreck leaving her and wasn't sure what to do. She decided to go back early in the morning.

Meowmy went out alone at 5:30 and found Snap sleeping where she had left her. At first it looked like no poop but she went in and found 3 mashed up piles. Then she sat down and cried in Snap's stall. Snap, always hating to see Meowmy upset pressed her muzzle against Meowmy's face for a long time and it seemed like she was telling her it was OK, she felt better and was so very happy Meowmy had been there with her.

So she's not allowed to eat grain yet and Meowmy needs to go out and find her a bran mash in the morning. She's also getting some pro-biotics for a few days. She still has lots of gas but she'll be turned out in the field in an hour or so and she can walk around out there and hopefully feel better. Meowmy is not going to Boston, she can't leave knowing Snap is just recovering.

Thank you so much to everyone that purred with us. Your comments helped wake Meowmy up early this morning and made her feel much less alone since so many of you knew what she was going through.

Please Purr for Snap

Our very very big sister Snap is sick. Horses can't yak up hairballs like we can, in fact they can't yak at all- its a one way system so when their tummies hurt its a BIG DEAL and its call colic. So at 6pm the barn lady noticed Snap didn't eat her dinner, was pawing, pacing, had rolled on the ground (this can make their intestines twist which can kill them) and not acting herself. She called Meowmy who of course raced out there and the vet as well. The vet gave her a pain killer, and pulled the poop out of her (nice right?) and a shot of some stuff to help her pass her poop easier. There are different kinds of colic and the kind she has is called gas-colic so its like her tummy is filled with gas and it hurts her. She won't even let Meowmy touch her belly.

Meowmy just spent 2 hours at the barn with her (which is 30 minutes from the house each way) and came home since Snap was resting peacefully. However Meowmy is of course not completely satisfied so she's going back out there at midnight to check on her.

Could you please purr really extra loud for our sister? She's extra big so I guess it makes sense to purr louder. Meowmy was supposed to be going to Boston tomorrow but I think she's going to stay home with Snap even if she is doing OK. Silly Meowmy, never trusts the care of her furries to anyone but herself I guess. Yeah for us though!!

Snap Thursdays

OK, I'm tired of the felines thinking they're so perfect. You know what I do to cats who try to sleep in my hay? I nudge them out, that's what I do. I take back control of my space. And while we're talking about things that are MINE I want to make sure you know the Bill Payer Lady is mine. She's not just the Woman, Meowmy, or the Lap Lady, she's my Bill Payer Lady.

Anyhow its fall as I'm sure you've noticed. I recently put up my post on the Frisky Fall Contest. I'm sure you're all quite impressed with my typing skills since I'm an equine and I only have 4 hooves. (Speaking of which is hoooves or hooves? A question to ask yourself when you want to be annoyed by the Treater Man. He's made it a mission in his life to have people say hooooves.)

The Bill Payer Lady has been expecting me to WORK lately....sigh. Its so hard to pick up my feet sometimes and then she expects me to do it perfectly. Why? Isn't it enough I cart her around on my back? Once a week the Feeder Lady comes and yells at the Bill Payer while she's riding me which isn't fun because then the Bill Payer figures out I'm just lazy and can do the things she wants.

I hear the worst rumor. They are going to cut my FEED!!!???!!! I mean really, how much equine cruelty can I endure? I am not FAT.

P.S. Bill Payer says her monitor died at work. So she's switching computers and won't have access today at work like usual.
